Two years ago we joined the Howden Group. Like A-Plan, Howden is a British business that takes a no limits approach to delighting and caring for its clients. It was founded by David Howden and two of his friends in London in 1994. Since then, it has grown to be one of the UK’s largest independent insurance brokers, with offices all over the world that serve local people, locally. The culture hasn’t changed since David started the business – its client focus matches our own and that’s why it’s a perfect home for A-Plan.

When we joined the Howden family, we said we would change our name when the time was right. Now is that time, and I’m excited to announce Howden will be the new name for A-Plan from the beginning of October.

That’s the only thing that is changing. The people that have looked after you will continue to do so from within our local communities.

We will continue to open new branches, add to our product range, so we can look after everything that is important to you, and be part of our local communities with more local initiatives.

Will the rebrand affect my policy?

The only difference you’ll see is the new name of Howden on our covering letters. Insurance policies will not change in any way.

Will I still be dealing with the same team of people in my branch?

Yes, there are no changes. You will be dealing with the same great team of people and receive the same excellent service you’ve come to expect from us.

A-Plan sponsors our local club/team – will that now stop?

If we already have a relationship with a club or group, that relationship will continue, just under the Howden name. And if a new opportunity arises and it feels right, then we’ll look at that too.

Why is A-Plan Insurance rebranding to Howden?

A-Plan joined the Howden family just over two years ago and it now feels like the right time to take on the Howden name. While we take care of you under this new name, we remain true to our roots – caring for our communities with local experts, with local knowledge, their client focus matches our own and that’s why it’s a perfect home for A-Plan.

Will I see the name of the company on my bank account change? Debit card, credit card and monthly payments?

Yes, payments will reflect our new Howden identity.

Will my local branch still be available after the rebrand?

Absolutely, yes. We’re fully committed to our presence in our communities serving local people, locally. In fact, we’ll continue to open new branches and our next being in Canterbury then in York and Kendal, as well as increasing the number of commercial offices we have and communities we can care for.

Will A-Plan still be involved in community events?

Yes, our team love to get involved in local community events, whether that’s a family fun day, a charity or a business networking event at our branch, or supporting local clubs, groups or schools, it’s something we’re passionate about and will continue to do.

You’ll be pleased to know that you can still contact the same people in the same way. Our email addresses and telephone numbers will be automatically updated and won’t require any action from you.
